Jan Pilarcik is a Slovak artist currently based in Barcelona. This series “Ange.” are black and white photos taken of century old statuary angels living throughout Barcelona. Pilarcik is a perfectionist in his craft and composition. He seeks quiet moments, beauty, and simplicity. His photos create an intimate encounter for us as if we could reach out and touch the warm stone. These angels bring a life of their own as we are invited into their gaze.
